   what a great tool, I had to put a 1" hole in a radiator support 3/16" thick to run a air condition line in a old car. this bit made a clean hole with no kickback.

   This step bit is a fraction of the price of what you will pay in the big box store. My worry was that it would not work as well.If you are a home brewer and you are looking for something to drill through kegs with for installing various accessories, this bit is it. I have made two 7/8" holes in stainless steel kegs with it so far with ease, and no relative sign of wear. Just use some cutting oil to cool the bit and the stainless.    I bought this bit to widen the supplied hitch hole on my garden tractor to accept a 1 7/8 ball hitch. I only needed to increase the hole by fractions and this bit did the job neatly and quickly.    I needed to cut a hole in the center of the fire bowl of my new smoker. It didn't make the cleanest hole one might ask for but I blame that on the fact that the bowl was coated with porcelain. For this purpose I didn't need a 'clean' hole, anyway. It looks like it would work great on plain old uncoated sheet metal. I'm happy to have it in my toolbox.
