The blade design seems to generate excellent air flow. We are happy with the noise level - at the middle (out of three) speed setting, we barely hear it above us as we sleep.
I have two of these fans in my living room and they work great. They are very quiet (I don't know why one of the previous reviewers had a problem with noise). They also look great! The only drawback, in my opinion, is the light. It just gives off a small, focused spot. It looks nice, but If you are looking for these fans to light up a room, forget about it.
I bought this very expensive fan because it looked so cool and contemporary. Unfortunately, that's the only thing it has going for it. A few of the cons: (1) The light is too dim to be useful as anything other than ambient lighting. (2) The fan is noisy. I have some extraordinarily cheap fans in other rooms that are really quiet, so I was shocked to get so much annoying noise from a fan that cost this much. (3) The bottom part of the fan's globe fits so loosely that when the fan is operating, you'd swear it's going to fall off. I thought my electrician had made a mistake when he put it together, but he showed me that that's actually how it fits. I'm terrified every time I turn it on.Because of its flaws, I've used this ceiling fan so seldom that I may as well have never had it installed. I've finally given up and am shopping for a replacement. Learn from my mistake and buy something else.
This is a very unique looking fan and is definitely a conversation starter. Very modern and contemporary look. It runs whisper quiet and does a decent job moving air. The only drawback is the lighting is super bright but focused downward so it does a poor job of lighting the rest of the room. This is a great fan if you're looking for style, but since there's an option to skip the light to save a few bucks I'd go with that option if lighting is not an issue. One of the reviewers complaints about noise leads me to believe he definitely has a defective unit. The fit and finish is great and there is no noise at all when it's in motion for me.
